About Beth Mankel

As a child, it became obvious at the age of 5 that music was going to become an extension of me. I could not get enough of the piano. It became my friend, and still, as I sit down to bring life to it... it brings life to me. At a very young age, I remember listening to my mother play Beethoven and being literally changed by it. I wanted to be able to play the music that had touched me so deeply through my mother's hands. It was not too many years later that I was able to feel that same music coming from my own hands. At the age of 7, I began singing and playing the piano. I had found my passion.

My hunger to grow musically manifested itself in a desire to encounter as many musical cultures as possible. Over time, my musical interests encompassed not only my classical piano roots, but also included rock and roll, jazz, choral music, and contemporary Christian. This diversity of musical experiences allowed me to nurture my need for music and my desire to share my love of music with others. This desire has not only been to perform music, but to teach it. Opening Studio 88 has been a dream for a long time. So, here is the information you may be asking for: I hold a Bachelor of Music degree in Piano Performance from Eastern Kentucky University. I also have my Teacher Certification and taught at Mary Queen of the Holy Rosary school for three years, before I began private piano teaching. For 10 years, I was the Director of Music at Crossroads Christian Church where I built the music team and led the band in creating a musical experience for our congregation. In 2002, I recorded “Grow” an original CD showcasing a variety of styles. I have over 25 years of experience as a pianist and/or vocalist for numerous weddings and a variety of other musical projects.

News & Reviews

"Just listened again to your album, Lexington is LUCKY to have such blessed musical talent as you in their midst, one of these days they might even realize it! Shared it with colleagues in LA and they were blown away."
---Michael Fitzpatrick
--2010 Cellist on Beth’s “Grow” CD

I had Greek mythology in the ninth grade. I never understood why Odysseus had to be tied to the mast, to listen to the Song of the Sirens, until I heard Beth sing. I wanted to get out of my seat and go walk on the stage, which I did.
–Bill Curry

"Ms. Mankel plays a full repertoire of classical music fit for a royal audience --her music is divine, inspirational, and superb all at the same time"

If Danika Patrick could play the piano and sing, Beth Mankel would blow her doors off.
–Bill Curry

Quotes from Brides about Beth’s music….

"Beth is talented beyond words. She made planning the music for our wedding ceremony very easy. Her song selection, ability to sing different types of selections, experience, and musical expertise set her apart from others in the field. It was a delight to work with her and our wedding ceremony music was beautiful!"
~Josh & Kimberly Petersen

“You were amazing! Thank you so much for everything! We were so proud of you! Everyone said you sounded incredible. They said after the first song they did not know if they should stand and clap or not. And one person walked in while you were singing ‘If I Ain't Got You’ and thought is was the real Alicia Keys! Way to go!! We love you and thank you again for everything!!!!
---Brooke and Dave Cottingham

“I cannot say enough about how special Beth made our wedding day. From the first time we spoke about the music, she was incredibly thoughtful and professional. She was truly supportive of our preferences, and was able to take our ideas and create exactly what we were looking for at our ceremony and during the reception. She even learned “our song” and created a beautiful arrangement for our first dance. Having Beth as a part of my wedding day made it all the more memorable and I cannot recommend her enough.”
~Mary Chris and Brad Ponder

Beth did a phenomenal job at our wedding. She performed two songs beautifully and was a professional throughout the process. We'd highly recommend her to anyone looking for a performer in the Lexington area."
–Jon and Carrie Bischke

“Beth went above and beyond to make our ceremony perfect! She helped so much with music selection and made the day so much less stressful by helping with the sound system....besides the fact that the music and vocals were beautiful! I will definitely pass her name along to others I know getting married!” Thanks for everything!
