About The Whiting's
The Whiting's Nashville-based jazz singer-songwriters Tammy and Jamey Whiting have been performing in the Southeast for over 10 years.
Tammy started her singing career in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico, singing jazz in Spanish where she lived and studied for a year. Her silky alto delivers deep feeling when she sings. Her influences are the three great female jazz singers: Ella, Billie and Sarah. The songs she has penned with her husband, jazz pianist and composer Jamey Whiting, are reminiscent of many of the jazz standards they have performed by songwriters such as George and Ira Gershwin, Johnny Mercer and Hoagy Carmichael.
Jamey has played piano for many years in Nashville area studios and clubs, and has backed acts such as the Ink Spots and Lou Rawls. His unique piano and vocal style are inspired by the greats Fats Domino and Ray Charles. He has toured Europe with Nashville based artists and as part of his own band, The Big Dawgs.
