About Liz Kilgo

What could be better than being born and raised in the Backwoods of Minnesota? The setting of a storied childhood of many creative people. Liz Kilgo grew up living in a small country home with her parents, brother and sister. As a child, Liz found spending time making up songs as she played and did her various chores to be an extension of her creativity.

The early childhood years included Liz’s Dad playing guitar around the house which always inspired her musical interest. Liz would often assist her Grandfather with yard work, listening intently while he made up little rhyming songs he’d sing for her which soon became a habit for Liz as well. She began writing whole songs at nine years of age. Later, Liz would go on to take part in school bands, choirs and plays. By the age thirteen, Liz found herself becoming more serious about the songs she wrote. Liz soon formed her first band with her cousin and sister and began recording her original songs at home.

Jumping forward a few years, Liz began writing professionally and recorded gospel music that was then successfully marketed to radio stations in Europe. Liz’s Father took her first recordings to his local radio station where they were played by request on The Morning Show for two years as “Positive Country Music”. The great response from these recordings brought her back to her country roots where she began writing and recording Country music.

With countless hours of vocal training behind her and many self-produced studio recordings, Liz herself found the dream of being a recording artist would not die. It was this undeniable dream that ultimately brought Liz to Nashville Tennessee where she frequented local writer's nights to get her feet wet as an up and coming singer/songwriter. Liz says “My heart lies in the heart of Music City and in the Music Industry”.

To date, Liz has completed her first album "Chasin' Dreams" which was officially released in 2010 followed by several single releases to radio in the midwest and other countries as well yielding radio play of her songs "Minnesota Winter", "Wrong Way Home" and "Proud About It" on XM's "Nashville Channel" for a total of two years.

In the summer of 2012, Liz released the much anticipated EP titled "Proud About It" along with her first official music video. Liz continues her musical endeavor with extraordinary dedication and un-equaled passion. She continues performing shows throughout the country, keeping her sights firmly on her professional goals. Currently, Liz is hard at work writing songs for her third album with a release scheduled for mid 2013.
