At the tender age of 16 she performed with the Lexington Philharmonic and since then has thrilled audiences in New York, West Virginia, Ohio and Kentucky. As a licensed Kindermusik teacher, Sally has taught count-less students from a very young age all the way to adult, sharing her deep passion for music. Joan Herndon has been playing Flute for over 35 years, performing in Symphony orchestras, Opera and Ballet companies, musicals, weddings, recitals as well as teaching hundreds of students of all ages throughout Kentucky, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio and Florida. Joan received her Masters in Flute performance at the Cleveland Insti-tute of Music and has been performing for audiences ever since. Joan has been a member of the SSO since 1993.
