Jeff’s lightening-fingered guitar playing melds with Joanna’s expressive violin and mandolin and Ben’s jubilant accordion and upright bass. This group will surprise and delight its audience with its varied repertoire. The band's performances are filled with joy and laughter! A typical performance might start with a Celtic air and a jig, followed by an eastern European czardas, a jazz cover, some Latin grooves and Stirfry originals. "Stirfry" is a gypsy jazz band of violin, accordion, guitar, mandolin, percussion and kazoo. Joanna Hay, Jeff Ellis, Ben Griffith and Bill May add lots of laughter to their music, playing a stirfry of Gypsy, Latin, Jazz, Celtic with Originals thrown in to spice things up. In celebration of the Kentucky Derby, Stirfry played the Derby Eve Gala at the Governor's Mansion. Governor Beshear even sang with us and we got the crowd to their feet dancing!
